Job Description
A Well Control Instructor is responsible for the well control Training of MBPS employees, client and 3rd parties as required. · He will have IWCF Supervisory level certificate valid. · He will get the accreditation of IWCF or IADC for well control instructor and take the classes as required. · He will be responsible for the renewal of accreditation of the training center. · He will be an approved instructor/assessor of IWCF. · He will be an approved instructor from IADC if required. · His minimum educational level should be graduation.
· He will visit the field to assess the employees and to train the employees on well control if required. · He should have minimum 5 years of rig practical experience. · He must have worked on the rig in position of minimum driller position. · Develop well control courses to enhance the knowledge of employees as operationally required by each MBPS deptt. · He will prepare well control course curriculum of basic and advance level for MBPS target population as required. · He will deliver basic and advance well control training to MBPS employees as required. · He will assess MBPS employees on simulator for their competency assurance as required by MBPS. · He will provide well control training to MBPS employees in order to prepare them for IWCF or IADC exam. · He will ensure to have complete data of well control training conducted in the training center and for all kind of assessments and written exam. done in the training center. · Instruct and teach the course participants in classroom lectures and/or group sessions. · Assesses, mentors and coaches students. · Acts as a first point of contact for students and MBPS staff for course preparation. · Evaluates the progress of students and makes recommendations to HR and Line Management concerning student course performance, when required. · Develop assessment questions database to develop online testing for all Technical courses. · A Well Control Instructor will be the subject Matter Expert (SME) and will be responsible for capturing, encouraging and sharing of best practices among all field units. · Assists in coordinating student logistic needs, including class events (dinners, team-building activities), etc. · Assists with administration of his class as required (including communications with locations manager in case of resources or support needed for assigned classes). · Assists with the coaching and development of new team members. · Identifies and participates in continuous improvement initiatives related all the Well Control training needs · Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the location or Company. · On the basis of the business needs, he will plan and issue Well Control Training schedules for all required courses. · He will review the cost effectiveness of Well Control Training courses. Costs effectiveness can certainly be achieved by having acceptable certification (of competence) issued by instructors and assessors. · He will review the legislative requirements and those of the clients and maintain the Well Control Training Requirements template up to date as per needs. · He will monitor monthly progress of the trainees. · He will follow-up on new Well Control Training techniques that will provide more cost-effective Training e.g. Computer Based Training and interactive computer/video Training, online testing etc. · In addition to well control related training he will also deliver drilling technology training as decided by his training manager.
