Job Description
The GM will plan and manage the resources and assets of our operations for optimal profitability and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day business and operations. He will establish solid and long-term relations with customers based on the delivery of a professional and reliable service and otherwise generally promote the business for our client in the Sultanate of Oman. His primary focus is to ensure that the objectives of the Company are met in accordance with the Parent Company Group’s strategy and business plan in liaison with the MD & CEO.
The Oil and Gas business is of complex nature and the business environment in Oman poses many challenges. The GM has to have a strong focus on business development and relationship building to cope with the highly competitive environment of GCC. The role must be able to operate within the Company’s multinational teams and high reporting standards. The ideal candidate has managerial experience from a service company, preferably with ASME Pressure vessel and associated components , and is able to use a combination of technical and leadership skills to focus the teams and deliver both professional sales and quality service to our customers • Experienced Oil and Gas services manager having held a management position (preferably) in one of the four major service companies
• 15 years’ experience including in the field of management at a senior level • Self driven and ambitious • Leadership, people management and team building skills • Cultural and social awareness of the Arab cultures • Excellent communicator in English (Arabic speaking would be an advantage) with strong influencing skills • Facilitating skills • Negotiating skills • Business Planning and Monitoring • Numeracy • Budgeting and cost control • Financial Appraisal • Time Management • Market Knowledge
