International contracts are generally for two years. International Schools in the Middle East follow UK and US curriculums predominantly and offer exposure to IB . Schools require you to be qualified with a Bachelors or Masters of Education, or Degree plus PGCE/HDE – these are not jobs teaching English as a Foreign Language but proper teaching jobs. International schools in the Middle East are often high performing with high expectations and so require teachers with 2+ years post qualification experience, however a small number of schools will consider teachers who are newly qualified or have less that the stated 2 years’ experience.
