Do you have an adventurous spirit and a desire to live like a king on a tax free salary?  If so – then teaching in the Middle East could be for you.  From the vibrancy of Abu Dhabi and the hustle -  bustle of shopping heaven Dubai to the natural beauty and stunning beaches of Oman and on to the growing excitement of life in Dubai’s “Prince in waiting” - Qatar – you are never far from forming memories to last a lifetime!

Whilst many countries across the globe experience a shortage of teaching roles – schools in the Middle East continue to open and grow and along with it some amazing opportunities to teach in a whole new environment, enjoying a tax free lifestyle along with superb benefit packages that include free annual flights, free furnished accommodation, medical insurance and often – utilities allowances.  In fact – the tax free salary is only needed to fund your everyday living expenses!  A typical salary in the Middle East might be £21,000 per annum (equivalent to £30,000 before tax in the UK) – with the ability to save £5000 per year (Cost of living is 40 – 50% cheaper in the middle east).  International contracts are generally for two years.

International Schools in the Middle East follow UK and US curriculums predominantly and offer exposure to IB .  Schools require you to be qualified with a Bachelors or Masters of Education, or Degree plus PGCE/HDE – these are not jobs teaching English as a Foreign Language but proper teaching jobs.

International schools in the Middle East are often high performing with high expectations and so require teachers with 2+ years post qualification experience, however a small number of schools will consider teachers who are newly qualified or have less that the stated 2 years’ experience.  Schools predominantly recruit from the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US.
